Karlaby Kro is situated in the little village Karlaby in the middle of Österlen. The hotel is surrounded by billowing fields and its own park. Until 1990 is was a privately owned farm, called Karlsnäs.
The main building was built in early 19th century by Mårten Mattsson. The wings, which were originally the stable, was built by his grandchild Elna and her husband Måns in 1898. Hence the inscription EA & MA 1898 over the entrance.
The hotel rooms are situated in the old stable, while the restaurant is in the main building. In connection to the stable you find the indoor pool and just outside there is a terrace with sun beds. The main building and the stable are conncected by the cobbled yard where you during summer can sit in the shadow under the platan trees.
Karlaby Kro is owned and run by Sophie & Pär Bonér.
